The Wedding Film You’ll Actually Watch More Than Once
By Nicho Ader, Archer Wedding Films
It’s a common story—couples spend their hard-earned money on a wedding video, only to watch it once, feel underwhelmed, and let it sit on a hard drive collecting dust. At Archer Wedding Films, we’ve made it our mission to create wedding films that you’ll want to watch over and over again.
What’s the difference between a wedding film that gets watched once and one that becomes an endlessly re-watchable keepsake? It comes down to how the film is made. A wedding video that feels too stiff or staged won’t resonate emotionally. It might be visually beautiful, but it lacks the real moments and feeling of love that make you feel connected to the day.
We believe that the key to a re-watchable wedding film is authenticity. When you watch your wedding video, you should feel like you’re right back in the moment—hearing the laughter, feeling the joy, and seeing the genuine emotions that made your day special.
That’s why our approach is extremely unobtrusive. We capture the day as it unfolds, so you can relive it exactly as it happened.
If we do a portrait session, we make it fun and make sure you don’t feel like you’re posing. We want you to feel like your just playing or frolicking.
We also understand that life moves fast, and while your wedding day might feel like a blur in the moment, our films are designed to help you slow down and savor the memories. Whether it’s the look in your partner’s eyes as you exchange vows, the quiet moments you steal away together, or the dance party that never seemed to end, our films capture the real story of your day.
Your wedding film should be more than a one-time viewing—it should be something you return to, year after year, to relive the magic. At Archer Wedding Films, we’re here to make sure your film is not just a recording, but a cinematic experience that lets you feel every moment all over again.
Madeleine + Greg’s Film (Above): How’d We Do It?
Madeleine and Greg’s energy was infectious, making our job not only easy but incredibly fun. From the moment we met them over Zoom, we knew we had to mic up Greg— his sense of humor and charm were bound to create unforgettable soundbites, and we were right. Throughout the day, Greg’s commentary added a unique, personal layer to their film, filled with laughter and sweet moments.
While we primarily let the photographers (our wonderful friend, Bridgitte Rennee— seriously… if you need a ___ ___ photographer, she’s the best. So chill, so talented, simply amazing) take the lead during the posed shots, our subtle directions, like asking them to "practice your first dance over there" or "______," helped ease any awkwardness and brought out genuine, playful moments.
Though we couldn’t use a drone due to airspace restrictions in D.C., we focused on highlighting the iconic beauty of the Congressional Country Club through thoughtful framing and creative cinematography. We also made sure to capture those small, quiet moments—the ones that often go unnoticed, like a stolen glance or an unexpected tear during the speeches. These are the moments that resonate the most when rewatching the film, making it a true reflection of their love and their day.
We also love capturing the small, quiet moments that are often overlooked—like the way Greg glanced at Madeleine during speeches or the tear she shed during a quiet exchange.
Your wedding may last a day, but your wedding film will bring those memories to life for years to come. It’s an investment in love, in laughter, and in all the moments that truly matter.
Cheers again, Madeleine and Greg! Your day was unforgettable, and we are so honored to have been a part of it.
